If you ever went to Spain for a gay holiday you probably ended up somewhere in Sitges. Close to Barcelona and with all the convenience for gay travellers (restaurants, bars, parties and of course the beach) you must have had a great time. But did you also wonder where the Spanish boys were? Well get ready for a little shock: the cute, sexy, handsome, fit and gorgeous Spanish boys go downsouth, to Torremolinos!
That’s right: the little village that was the ‘place to be’ for retired Europeans back in the 70’s. And still it attracts a lot of not so fashionable straight -but as I discovered, very openminded- families. The cute Spanish guys discovered that in this place the sun shines more, places to stay and eat are way cheaper and there’s a less touristy gaycrowd. Besides that you’ll discover that the very touristy shoppingareas are cheaper than cheap but nevertheless don’t bother guys walking hand-in-hand.
At the beachside you’ll find a lot of guys openly cruising and bringing the boys up to their rooms, a nice beachclub and of course the cheerful queens. At night everybody gathers in a big gay-area, where dragshows, bearclubs and hipterbars are non-competative neighbours. I must admit, that my stay in Torremolinos was short, but I definitely go back soon. Sitges is great but Torremolinos is more Spanish, and isn;t that just what you’re looking for when you go to Spain?
So fly to Malaga, go to Torre and make sure to sepak a few words in Spanish, as most hotties spent more time at the gym than in English-class.
